Notes: This was carved as part of The Chicago Tree Project in Pilsen, Chicago. I carved 12 spirals around the tree on a scaffold, while discussing my project with locals during 3 weeks in September/2016. The Chicago Tree Project hires artist to create sculptures in trees in Chicago Public Parks, that are due to be cut down due to disease or infestation. This sculpture was carved in an Ash Tree that was infected with Emerald Ash Borer, an insect that is decimating Ash trees throughout the United States. I am available to carve one of these or other forms into a tree on your property.

Notes: This sculpture was carved at an elementary school as an “artist in the schools” residency. It was inspired by student’s animal drawings, that were done in art classes. Students could watch a sculptor at work and were taught how math concepts are part of making a sculpture. When finished, it was installed on the playground, where the children can play or sit upon it.

Notes: This sculpture was carved on site as part of “Art on The Trails” Exhibit at Beals Preserve, Southborough, MA in the Summer of 2019. This sculpture is a comment on more rain being produced on earth due to global warming.

Notes: This sculpture was carved in a live tree at the request of the sculpture consultant June LaCombe who holds annual exhibits at her property. “It was the only time that I have carved into a live tree and I find it fascinating to see how the tree healed around the edges and continues to thrive.” You may hire the sculptor to carve a relief form into a live or dead tree on your own property.

Notes: Two giant acorn sculptures were carved. One was carved (in front of the public) at Art in the Park, Elm Park, Worcester. It was then acquired for permanent display at The Ecotarium Museum in Worcester, MA. The second was carved with a Maine Arts Commission grant, in Deering Oaks Park and later purchased by a private collector. Location should say: Worcester, MA & Portland, ME.
