Description

Although the essence of my sculpture is pure form, I decided to sculpt a series of pine cone sculptures to focus on details of pine cone scales. I am fascinated by various pine cone shapes. These cones are all modeled from close observation of specific species found in Maine, where I live. These pieces were an exciting challenge and time consuming to sculpt.

This sculpture is 16 inches tall by 6 inch diameter. It is made of highfire stoneware clay.
